Job overview

TEACHER OF DESIGN and TECHNOLOGY (Full-Time)

Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our talented Design, Engineering and Technology Depart team on a full-time basis from September 2022. The successful candidate will demonstrate strength and experience with teaching Design and Technology. The ability to offer Textiles or Food and Nutrition could be an advantage. We are happy to consider both experienced candidates and those who are at an early stage of their career.

Having been created in stages over the past 26 years, the Design, Engineering & Technology Department is well established within the school. All pupils from Year 6 to Year 9 have DET lessons within their timetables. Food and Nutrition and Design and Technology are available within the GCSE option system in Year 10 and Year 11 and are popular options. Good numbers of students also opt to take A Level Design and Technology and many go on to study design-based or engineering degrees at university.

The successful applicant will contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the Design, Engineering and Technology department and Leicester Grammar School generally.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please visit www.lgs-senior.org.uk/vacancies for an information pack and application form. Previous applicants need not re-apply.

Applications close at 9.00am on Thursday 19 May 2022.

Interested candidates are advised to apply early; we reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the specified deadline, if a suitable candidate is found.

Interviews will take place before half term. Please note that short-listed candidates will have a tour of the school as part of the interview process.

Leicester Grammar School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is reflected in its recruitment procedures. Successful candidates for posts are required to undergo safer recruitment checks which include an enhanced DBS disclosure.
