Job overview

The Peele Community College is a popular 11 -16 college in the rural market town of Long Sutton. Within our most recent Ofsted inspection, it was noted that significant improvements are being made in the college.

We are looking for a very talented and dynamic Teacher of Design and Technology who is able to inspire students, be innovative and achieve outstanding results. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach GCSE product design and engineering.  This is an ideal and exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified or more experienced teacher. The college provides extensive opportunities for Professional Development including links to LTSA and Greater Peterborough Teaching School Alliance, which would particularly benefit newly qualified teachers and those wishing to progress to management.

The Design and Technology Department is a friendly, committed and enthusiastic team. We work together to ensure our students and staff enjoy their work and achieve their potential. The department is highly ambitious and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of their journey.  The department is very well resourced and laptops are provided to all staff. There are two dedicated suites of computers as well as a 3D printer and laser cutter.

An application pack can be obtained by visiting the college website www.thepeele.co.uk/vacancies or via TES. Visits to the college by prospective candidates are warmly welcomed.

Closing date for applications: 26 October 2018 at 9am

Interviews will be held week commencing 29 October 2018

Applicants please note this post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.

This college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Governors have a detailed understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for improvement. They are highly visible in the school and actively support and challenge senior leaders. Attainment at GCSE is rising and getting closer to the national average. Progress in core subjects is good.”
