Teacher of Design and Technology - Main Pay Scale

Required from 28th August 2018 in this outstanding, very successful 11-16 mixed academy

This outstanding Academy is inviting applications from ambitious, well qualified and highly motivated candidates to teach across the full ability and age range in a very successful Design & Technology Department. Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply. 

The role will involve teaching across all areas of Technology at KS3 and where needed Technology at KS4. A willingness/ability to teach ICT/Business Studies courses would be an advantage. Knowledge of the guidelines relating to health and safety in a workshop and food room is essential.

Hodgson Academy has been designated as one of the first wave of National Teaching Schools. This post will add capacity in Design and Technology to help deliver our commitment to further raising attainment at Hodgson and beyond. 

Results in 2017 included 82.3% Basic Measures (9-4), 85.9% of the students achieved a grade 4 or above in Mathematics and 82.3% in English. 

ICT within and across the curriculum is a major focus to improve standards and all teaching staff are issued with a personal laptop on appointment.
