The Design Technology rooms are housed within the specialist Art & Design village where all classrooms have an Interactive White Board, desktop computer and a visualiser enabling you to deliver engaging lessons.  Outside of the classrooms we have computer suites that can also be utilised.  The working environment is excellent and innovative in design with very well resourced work areas. Student success and displays of work are prominent. Furthermore, you will benefit from a highly organised curriculum plan where all lessons are planned and stored on the Academy's online curriculum, Moodle and Sharepoint.

You will be a highly skilled and enthusiastic Resistant Materials practitioner with a track record of delivering good lessons, securing progress for every student. We have a willing and engaged student body who want to enjoy the best Technology experiences.

You will shape and form the delivery of the curriculum that links the subject to the real world. The integrated Art and Technology departments are keen to teach transferable skills that can prepare students for adult life, and develop opportunities for students to experience potential career opportunities.

This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the development of a brand new Design and Technology curriculum, with the potential to introduce an A Level course in 2020. The facilities are exemplary in our smart new building with dedicated workshops, materials preparation areas and excellent ICT suites.

You will be stepping into a department of seven teachers with a range of skills and abilities, managed by a Head of Art & Design who is supported by a Deputy. Additionally, we have two technicians supporting the various disciplines within the department.

From the moment you join us you will feel welcomed and supported by an experienced and varied team, who are wholly focused on teaching and learning.  As part of your induction into the Academy and the Art and Design department, you will be well supported through a comprehensive programme of induction, training and coaching to ensure you continue to develop as a teacher.
