 Bacon’s has long been an important part of the fabric of the local community in South East London and has served the community in its various forms for over three hundred years. Bacon’s achievements were recognised by Ofsted in June 2022 when we received a grading of ‘Good’ overall and in every area. In 2024 our GCSE outcomes were our best ever with 56% of students achieving grade 5+ in English and Maths and a P8 of +0.4. Our VI form results were excellent with 58% of grades at A*-B. This is an exciting time to be joining Bacon’s as we seek to continuously improve and be a great school in every respect.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated and ambitious Teacher of DT to join our successful Art and Design Technology department at Bacon’s College. If you are a dedicated, motivated and determined individual looking for an opportunity to make your mark, this is the perfect opportunity for you to join our journey to success.

The department is a strong, cohesive one with a track record of successful outcomes at GCSE and A level. In 2024, our GCSE results in Art were 100% 5+ and were also very high in Graphics and Product Design. 

A level results in Art and Graphics are also something we are proud of – in 2024 our A level students achieved 100% A*-B in both subjects.

You will joining a high-performing and supportive team that loves it’s subject but, more importantly, thrives on sharing this passion with our students in the classroom.

This role calls for an individual who is able to inspire, challenge and motivate our students. You must have the highest of expectations of every student, be enthusiastic, flexible and have a desire to see Art and Design Technology continue to flourish as well as the desire to become a valued member of Bacon’s College.
