Fixed Term for 1 Academic Year Subject to Curriculum Need

Start Date: September 2022

• Do you hold a strong set of values and want to be part of a working environment that reflects this?

• Do you want to join a team of colleagues that have a very strong track record of delivering excellent outcomes whilst also being committed to self-development and hold a real passion for subject pedagogy?

• Are you a champion for every single student achieving excellence and hold the highest of ambition for what students can achieve (both inside and outside the classroom?)

The Board of Governors of Audenshaw School wish to appoint a Teacher of Design and Technology to join our ‘Good’ School (Ofsted February 2018).

Our school is a fully inclusive, single academy trust. We place a significant emphasis on the full 5-year journey and, as a collective student and staff body, set the very highest of standards. In what is our 90th year, we pride ourselves on the shared values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience in all that we do. Aligned with these values, kindness and positivity are cornerstones that enable our young people to realise their full potential. For the right candidate, this is an extremely exciting time to join Audenshaw School. Behaviour is strong, with exceptional conduct around the school as pupils and staff greet visitors - and each other - with kindness and respect.

If you are an outstanding, enthusiastic and ambitious teacher, who holds QTS, and has the ability and passion to inspire those around you, please get in touch! We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate an unwavering passion for teaching design and technology. Our DT subjects are a popular choice at KS4 and include Engineering, Systems, 3D Design and Food Preparation and Nutrition.

With the appointment of our new Principal (as of January 2022), this is an exciting opportunity to come and join our team at a stage where Audenshaw School will continue to strive for the highest of quality in all that we do. This is a chance for an outstanding individual who has the relevant experience, commitment and drive, who is passionate about encouraging every child to reach their full potential within a supportive academic environment.

As part of the Audenshaw teaching staff body, you will be fully invested in and have opportunities to develop, collaborate and undertake both bespoke qualifications or courses aligned to the role. More broadly, you will be signposted to frequent and relevant professional development opportunities – we promote every single teacher being a ‘lifelong learner’. As an employee of Audenshaw School, you will have free use of our health and wellbeing service which gives you 24/7 access to mental health, financial and legal advice and support.

You will be part of a very supportive and cohesive staff team who have a track record of excellence whilst also being open and excited to self-develop for the benefit of themselves and students alike. As a teacher of Design and Technology, you will also be expected to play a key part in supporting curriculum design and implementation that secures high levels of enjoyment and progress for all.

Please do feel welcome to arrange a visit as we want to ensure all prospective candidates have an opportunity to see the school either ‘in action’ or at a time that suits you. Visits to the School are warmly encouraged and can be arranged with the Human Resources Department on recruitment@audenshawschool.org.uk or by calling the school on 0161 336 2133.

Any other informal questions or conversations that prospective candidates may have can be arranged as part of an informal telephone conversation with the Principal upon request.

This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory enhanced clearance by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
