Design and Technology offers an exciting and diverse curriculum underpinned by access to outstanding facilities available to pupils to facilitate their learning. The DT department is well resourced and there is a dynamic and collegiate approach to the sharing of best practice amongst the dedicated and highly experienced colleagues.

The department is a well-equipped facility with an extensive mixed material workshop, alongside spacious separate design studios. We combine a strong belief in the ability to communicate ideas in the form of sketching and rendering, alongside the use of professional level CAD software and CAM provisions. Pupils having access to 3D printing, alongside the use of large format laser cutters and CNC routers.

As a School we also offer Food and Nutrition on the timetable for pupils throughout the Senior School and prospective applicants with experience in this area may have the opportunity to teach in this department also.

Food Preparation and Nutrition is an exciting and creative course that focuses on practical cooking skills to ensure students develop a thorough understanding of nutrition, food provenance and the working characteristics of food materials. At its heart, the curriculum focuses on nurturing students’ practical cookery skills to give them a strong understanding of nutrition. The pupils have a fantastic kitchen to cook in and this inspiring environment provides a platform for flare and creativity in this exceptionally popular area of the academic curriculum.
