This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Teacher of Design Technology to join an outstanding HMC school with an exemplary reputation.

Working within a busy and dynamic Design and Technology Department, where pupils make excellent progress across each key stage, you will teach throughout all ages from Year 7 to A-Level. You will be teaching a curriculum that is fluid and forward thinking, encouraging exploration, innovation and an opportunity for students and staff to thrive and develop.

If you have a good degree in Product or Industrial Design or a closely related subject, with a passion for Design Technology and an ability to communicate and engage pupils in effective and exciting learning, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The department will support teacher training for a suitably qualified graduate. In 2018 the school was recognised by IStip as a centre of excellence for training and development of new teachers.

Design and Technology at Bromley High School

You will be joining a well-resourced department which encourages innovative teaching and learning approaches. The Department boasts two large multifunctional workshops for teaching practical lessons, a dedicated ICT suite with 3D printers, a separate CAM suite with A2+ laser cutter, CNC mill and vinyl cutter, a preparation room, two dedicated office spaces and an internal and external store room.

Bromley High School has been offering an exceptional education to bright and talented girls since 1883.

A leading GDST and HMC girls’ school with superb facilities spread across a leafy 25-acre site, Bromley High School educates approximately 870 girls from pre-prep to Sixth Form.

The school’s academic results are consistently excellent earning a rare ‘Exceptional’ rating for Learning and Achievement from the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. Achievement at A-level in 2022 was 34% A*s, 68% A*-A and 91% A*-B.
