Deira International School, Festival City is a not for profit Premium 3-18 school and is part of the Al Futtaim Education Foundation portfolio. The curriculum is based upon the English National Curriculum covering a diverse range of subjects.  Our personalised, play-based and continuous provision in the Early Years ensures that students are rigorously assessed against the prime and specific areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. This focuses on developing key learning skills and the foundations for accessing the Primary Curriculum.  In primary, students receive an enriching and broad curriculum offer, which includes the delivery of several non-core subjects. Our senior students take the IGCSE examinations in Year 11 and move into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) in Years 12 and 13. Teacher of Design Technology

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational Teacher of Design and Technology (DT) with a proven track record of outstanding student outcomes to join our Visual Arts Department from September 2021.  You will be determined to make a significant contribution to our highly successful Visual Arts department in addition to a strong all-round contribution to the ethos of our international school.  The successful candidate will have the skills and understanding to teach DT up to and including iGCSE at Key

Stage 4 and IB at Key Stage 5.  However, previous DP experience at Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.  The resources within the department to teach both Art and DT are extensive, and teachers benefit from the support of two experienced technicians with regard to practical work. Academic results in the department are consistently outstanding but there is always room for improvement and to further raise the profile of the subject with students and parents.

Successful applicants will have:

• A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge

• Experience of working within a high performing teaching team

• Experience teaching GCSE and IB or A Level or equivalent across Art or Design Technology or both.

• A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning
