Teacher of Design Technology (Resistant Materials) & Engineering
Position to commence: August 2019
£27,304-£40,792 per annum
The JCB Academy was established in September 2010, the first of a brand new kind of school in the UK, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering and business education.
Since opening we have been consistently successful - our Ofsted inspection in September 2018, recognised us as a “Good” school with “outstanding” features, including progress in mathematics, engineering and vocational courses and the dedication to keeping students safe and secure. Pupil numbers are growing - we have been oversubscribed every year, including for entry this September. Currently we cater for approximately 700 full time learners aged 13-18 as well as approximately 300 learners aged 16+ following apprenticeships.
We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational individual to deliver on a range of KS4 engineering and design & technology courses. We would be particularly interested in a candidate who is a specialist in Resistant Materials and has a good understanding of engineering design and manufacture.
At KS4, learners follow an integrated curriculum which is delivered through a series of engineering/business challenges in partnership with specialist teams from our challenge partners including JCB, Harper Adams University, HSBC, Toyota, Rolls Royce, Bosch Rexroth, Ultra PMES and Parker.
The successful individual will:
- Deliver an engaging engineering curriculum to KS4.
