Location: Kingstone High School,

Closing Date: 27th March 2023

Required for September 2023

Kingstone High School is seeking to recruit a dedicated, inspiring and a highly skilled DT practitioner to join our Art, Design and Technology (A, D & T) Faculty.

This is an exciting time to join the A D & T Faculty, as we are growing and striving for excellence within the school. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate and self-motivated DT specialist to join our well-resourced department, which comprises a resistant materials workshop and a design studio.

The successful candidate will be able to offer a high standard of teaching, contribute to the development of schemes of work and challenge students to push themselves in the evolving technological world that we live in.

We welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced colleagues who will be willing to contribute to the continuing development of the subject.  You will be joining a supportive staff team committed to promoting enjoyment and high achievement for all of our students. Therefore, if you are an enthusiastic classroom practitioner with high expectations and an ability to inspire, enthuse and challenge students to raise standards of achievement at all levels we would like to hear from you.

For an application pack, informal discussion about the role, or a visit to the school, please call or e-mail Mrs Sally Spreckley on 01981 250224 ext 264 or sspreckley@kingstoneacademy.co.uk

KHS is an 11 to 16 school, part of Kingstone Academy Trust, which also includes Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School, and we are located in a beautiful setting 5 miles south west of Hereford serving a large rural catchment area.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All vacancies that involve working with vulnerable adults and/or children will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Enhanced Level, along with other standard pre-employment checks.

Visions and value

The school aims to help every student reach their full potential by providing a range of opportunities and a safe and supportive environment to learn in. The school strives to offer a stimulating curriculum with a wide array of subjects, which includes an engaging range of extra-curricular activities.

The school aims to provide a personalised curriculum. While it emphasises the importance of the core subjects of English, maths and science, it also offers modern foreign languages, design technology, history, geography, P.E., art and music. The curriculum also prioritises opportunities to participate in local, national and international trips as well as extra-curricular activities which include textiles, football, basketball and choir.

Ofsted

“Teachers plan work carefully so that it builds on what students can already do. Activities are usually challenging for students of differing abilities, even where the spread of abilities in the class is wide. As a result, students make at least good progress in the very large majority of lessons.”
