TEACHER OF DT (Textiles & Food) - MPS/UPS
We are seeking to appoint a skilled teacher of Design and Technology to contribute to the work of the Art and Design Technology Faculty across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful applicant will be a well-qualified, dynamic teacher, committed to raising students’ technology skills. The successful candidate will be able to offer Food Technology and Textiles to at least KS3.
At KS3, Design and Technology is delivered through three material areas: Product Design, Textiles and Food. Students study all three material areas on a carousel system throughout each year group: 7, 8 & 9. Students also develop a good understanding of CAD/CAM processes within the curriculum area.
At KS4, The Faculty offers: GCSE Product Design, GCSE Food Technology, GCSE Textiles, Level 1 Vehicle Engineering, Level 2 BTEC Hospitality. At Key Stage 5, The Faculty offers: A-level Product Design & Level 3 BTEC Hospitality.
The Art and Design Technology Faculty is housed in a dedicated block with 3 Art rooms, 4 product design workshops, 1 textiles workshop and 2 food technology rooms, as well as its own dedicated prep. room, IT suite and staff base.
