Teacher of English and Drama
The role of the Drama teacher (Approximately 0.5):
We are looking for a Drama teacher who has excellent practical and academic subject knowledge. Being able to collaborate with the Arts department as a whole in creating a dynamic and inspiring curriculum is essential, embracing the opportunities that the IB Arts programme offers. We believe that having team members that are passionate about the Arts is key in enhancing and challenging the learning experiences of our Performing Arts students.
The applicant should also have a genuine and authentic interest in providing extra curricular activities and experiential learning experiences, through the Performing Arts, for students throughout the Secondary school.
The role of the English Language and Literature teacher (Approximately 0.5):
The Elite ACES programme has been created as a flexible educational pathway for gifted sporting athletes in Golf and Tennis. We are currently seeking an excellent, versatile teacher of English Language and Literature to join the Language Department and Elite ACES teaching team. The applicant should be able to deliver both the IBO MYP English Language and Literature programme and the International A-level in English Literature from Pearson Edexcel. In addition, the candidate will be required to prepare students to take the SAT examinations for entry to the American College system.
A familiarity with A-level English Literature and the SAT system would be preferable. The successful candidate will be a teacher who is comfortable with the use of online learning platforms and is willing to continue to create engaging resources that effectively utilise modern technology to support distance learning.
Applicants should be aware that Elite ACES students attend their relevant sporting academies every morning and arrive at school for lessons after lunch. Timetabling constraints may require lessons to be scheduled until 6pm on some days.
The successful candidate will be expected to report to the Leader of Learning for English and the Head of the ACES programme. Approximately half of all lessons will be in the MYP and/or IB programme with the other half teaching with the ACES team.

1.6 To set and mark work in accordance with school and departmental policy.

1.8 To participate in professional development and assessment of staff.
1.9 To help select and manage resources efficiently.
1.10 To participate in regular departmental and pastoral meetings.
1.11 To attend Parent Teacher Conferences.
1.12 To provide feedback to Parents through reports, meetings and 121 meetings.

2 Specific Responsibilities. The successful candidate will assume this post at a crucial stage in the development of SIS. The following list gives an indication of some of the specific current issues to be addressed.
