The Grammar School at Leeds are delighted to be recruiting for an inspiring drama teacher to commence in September 2018.
This is a brand new position following the expansion of the curriculum and represents an exciting time for the drama department, which from September will offer drama to all year groups. We offer GCSE and A level AQA drama and theatre studies as well as impressive co-curricular productions and drama and technical clubs throughout the year. This is a department that is growing rapidly in a school where there is a thirst for the performing arts.
The school has a long tradition of putting on significant, high-quality dramatic productions and we want to build on these high standards going forward to really bring drama alive. It is therefore our aim to ultimately be renowned nationally for the success of our drama provision. The drama facilities at GSAL include a theatre and a drama studio as well as two dedicated theatre support technicians.
We are seeking an exceptional and talented practitioner who will be committed to playing a full part in the department. The successful candidate will have an excellent subject knowledge, coupled with the ability to teach and inspire pupils across the senior school age range (11-18). Previous experience with drama and theatre studies at GCSE and A level is highly desirable.
Colleagues will also have the opportunity to participate in the wide range of extra-curricular activities available within the school and to support the house system.

In addition to formal interviews there will also be an opportunity for short-listed candidates to see around the School and meet members of the department.
