Full time Teacher of Drama (Maternity Cover)
Outer London Pay Scale
Required from February 2020
Woodcote High School has long been a top choice for parents in the Coulsdon & Purley area of South London and is heavily over-subscribed. Located in a pleasant suburban setting on the borders of Surrey, Sutton and Croydon, the school has a rural feel but is officially in the Outer London salary band.
Judged “good” by Ofsted in January 2015 in all areas and reaffirmed in March 2018, inspectors praised our students as “courteous, respectful and keen to talk about their achievements.”
GCSE results are way above average and A level results are good. Teachers rate Woodcote as an enjoyable place to work due to the “fabulous students and supportive colleagues”.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher of Drama to join our thriving department. The department has a history of success, both with formal examinations and extra curricular provision and both are valued equally. In 2019 G.C.S.E. results were above the national average with 92% achieving Grades 9-4. Theatre Studies is well respected at A level with our current Y13 students expecting 100% A*-C grades. We are looking for a creative and innovative teacher to join our successful team in taking the department forward in this well-resourced and evolving department.
Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and NQTs. If you have energy and a passion for your subject, then we would like to hear from you. Visits are encouraged so please telephone the school or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to arrange an informal visit or simply a chat before you apply.
