Alongside the Director of Drama, you will contribute to providing an excellent education for all Drama pupils by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm, offering support to the learning of individual students and contributing to the school’s pastoral system.
Drama at Oxford High School
Drama is taught across Years 7-13, and is a very popular choice at GCSE. Students study a variety of dramatic styles, genres and practitioners, and the Drama Studio is well equipped with a lighting and sound system, a projector, projection screen and laptops.
Recent productions have included: ‘Evita’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Westside Story’ and we are currently in rehearsals for ‘Wendy and Peter Pan’.

Oxford High School is an independent, non-denominational, all-through school for girls without nursery and with sixth form, situated in three sites in Summertown, North Oxford. It is one of 26 members of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), meaning it is governed by the council and operates according to the trust’s policy. The school provides 906 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 4-19.
Oxford High School was founded in 1875 and is the oldest girls' school in the city. Until recently it accepted boys into its junior school, but is now girls-only.
