Job overview

Working as a member of the school staff, you will teach within the English, Drama and Literacy Department in the excellent facilities of Strathearn Community Campus. This post will also include a Support for Learning / Guidance role.

Crieff High School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational, secondary school with a sixth form in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It caters to students aged 11 to 18 and has approximately 594 pupils enrolled. 

Crieff High School is part of the Strathearn Community Campus, opened in November 2009. It’s one of 11 secondary schools administered by Perth and Kinross Council. The school boasts indoor sports facilities including a heated swimming pool, squash courts, fitness suite, dance studio and sports halls, playing fields and a recording studio and theatre area.

The school’s main aim is to provide a caring, friendly community and to make sure the staff and pupils have a positive relationship. They hope to help each pupil achieve their full potential and to make them understand that everyone is as important as the other and deserves respect. It also works to recognise and celebrate achievements and teaches each student to be tolerant, compassionate and resilient. 

The curriculum is based on three main components: the formal, informal and hidden. The formal curriculum focuses on skills for the world of work and provides opportunities for outdoor learning. The informal curriculum help students develop their individual talents, be it music, sports, drama or leadership. The hidden curriculum is the interactions member of the school community have with each other.
