Heathcote School is an 11 – 18 school on a rapid journey of improvement. The Headteacher joined the school in 2017 and is working with all stakeholders to ensure we provide the best education and life chances we can to the young people of our community. In September 2018 we had a full Ofsted inspection where we were graded as good in all areas. This is an exciting time to be at a school in an unparalleled setting with unlimited potential in a high challenge, low threat environment. 

We are looking for a qualified and talented Teacher of Drama to teach across the ability range to GCSE and A Level.  You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of strong teachers and leaders.  The Drama department is part of a wider Creative Arts department and the aim is for Music, Art and Drama to work collaboratively to ensure an innovative approach to these areas across the curriculum and to extra -curricula activities. 

We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers.  As an NQT or Beginner Teacher at Heathcote School, you will be supported by experienced colleagues on a range of issues relating to planning, teaching and assessing with a dedicated mentor and a skills development programme that will provide you with the experience required to be a successful practitioner in education.  

You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of strong teachers and leaders.  The Creative Arts department has many strengths and staff who work collaboratively and are fully supportive of all stakeholders.  The successful candidate will be expected to continue to develop school productions and performances within the school and the local community.

The school has excellent resources and a stunning, spacious site on the edge of Epping Forest including a staff car park and surrounding roads that do not require a parking permit.   We are also a 15 minute walk from Chingford Station which has great links into the City.
