Job overview

Are you ambitious for all our young people and their life chances? Would you like to benefit from superb professional development opportunities and to work in one of the best equipped schools in the county? If so, then we would be very interested in hearing from you and supporting you in a relocation to the Lake District.

The Role

We are seeking to recruit a professional and talented Teacher of DT and Art on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity from April 2022.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful, and rapidly improving academy. We are driven by a forward thinking philosophy and a vibrant, positive culture. In a friendly and welcoming school, with supportive colleagues, you'll be able to make a real impact on our academy, and on the lives of children across the country.

There is an open culture in the school where teachers discuss their planning and share resources to meet the needs of pupils more precisely- Ofsted 2017.

We want you to be part of our professional, supportive and friendly team. We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted which shows that we are an ambitious and rapidly improving Academy. It also gives us some further insight into how we can continue to work towards becoming an Outstanding school. The full report from the most recent inspection can be found on our website.

We are an inclusive employer and are happy to consider flexible working practices, part time or a job share if they will benefit you and the students of the Academy.

About You

You're an inspirational practitioner, knowledgeable regarding the curriculum, and an exemplary pedagogy practitioner. Pro-active, flexible and enthusiastic, you bring the innovation and commitment to teach DT and Art across both KS3 and KS4. Keeping your subject exciting, relevant and enjoyable, you'll create an ambitious, innovative and motivating classroom. You'll inspire and challenge your students so that they develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their individual potential.

Reward

Being part of United Learning, one of the leading school groups in the country, we offer unrivalled career development opportunities and support to ensure you achieve your ambitions. United Learning has teamed up with Perkbox to offer you over 250 exclusive benefits, all through their easy-to-access platform and mobile app. Featuring a huge range of perks from discounted cinema tickets and holidays, to money off meals out at restaurants and savings on food, gym memberships, technology and clothes shopping. They also offer salary sacrifice schemes such as gym membership and Cycle to Work – which offer tax and NI savings on new bikes and fitness.

Every employee in United Learning will receive:

• An exceptional salary, above the maintained sector - up to 5% for NQTs;

• At least 8 INSET days per year in all our academies, with 3 dedicated to planning;

• Continuing Professional Development options - Tailored to your needs;

• The opportunity to save money across hundreds of major retailers;

• Competitive maternity, paternity and adoption benefits;

• The scope for flexible working.

United Learning and the Academy are equally ambitious as we strive to bring out ‘The best in everyone’.

Our Group

Richard Rose Central is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
