Bournemouth Collegiate School is a rapidly growing co-educational independent school situated on the south coast.  The School has extensive facilities, on two sites.  BCS provides a nurturing environment where the happiness of the pupils comes first.

BCS is looking for a professional and talented Teacher of EAL based at the Senior School.

The successful candidate will deliver, develop and improve teaching and learning throughout the school for our EAL learners, aiming for the highest achievable standards in all lessons and support sessions.

Knowledge and experience of both EAL and literacy strategies for raising achievement is essential, as is the ability to develop links with all other curriculum areas and the pastoral and boarding teams at BCS.

We are looking for someone with an ability to stimulate curiosity and interest, and who is prepared to give full commitment to the aims and ethos of BCS.  We need energy, ability, positivity and a willingness to go beyond expectation.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and learning, with the vision, commitment and determination to continue raising standards across all levels and abilities, and further contribute to the progress of our pupils. A desire and ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and School events is essential.

We welcome applications from every level of the teaching community; you may be looking for your first teaching position, you may be looking to move schools or areas, you may be looking to return to teaching after a break.  Whatever your reason we look forward to receiving your application.

BCS is a co-educational independent school on the south coast. The school has extensive facilities across two sites; BCS Senior (day and boarding, 11-18) is situated in excellent grounds in Southbourne, Bournemouth and BCS Prep (day, 2-11) is in spacious accommodation in Lower Parkstone, Poole. There are currently approximately 630 pupils on roll.

BCS provides a nurturing environment where the happiness of the pupils comes first.

We have developed the 4Cs of BCS; creativity, curiosity, commitment and community and through our broad and dynamic curriculum we believe we equip, challenge and develop pupils in all these important areas.

Our added value also extends to the significant number of co-curricular opportunities offered to pupils, which help to instil and develop the skills we want our daughters and sons to have as they grow up. Consequently, BCS pupils leave the School as well-balanced, confident and versatile young people.

We want to inspire each pupil to make the most of the talents they have. This way the pupils at BCS, of any age, grow in self-esteem, develop resilience, have a sense of fun and adventure and are equipped to flourish as young adults.
