Gresham’s School is situated in the Georgian town of Holt and sits within 200 acres of glorious countryside. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and with the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk Coast just a few miles away. 


We are currently looking for an outstanding Teacher of Economics to join our thriving and successful department. The successful applicant will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner who has a significant interest in Economics and is excited at the prospect of joining a strong academic team. The teaching of Economics will be required for Years 12 and 13 to A-level and the IB Diploma level, in a classroom situated within a state of the art newly built £4m building. 


The role is not just classroom based as the School has both boarding and day students and runs an extended school day offering a vast range of sporting and extra-curricular activities. There may be opportunities for the successful candidate to turn their interests into a hobby option for students as part of the extra-curricular programme.


The role is suitable for an NQT or recent graduate who is keen to start a career in the independent boarding sector. The ability to teach Business Studies will be considered an advantage.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
