Pendleton Sixth Form College is looking to recruit a hardworking and driven teacher of Economics on a permanent contract. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic teaching professional with excellent subject knowledge and a strong academic background. It is essential that candidates are passionate about working in education and with young people and have high standards of achievement for all learners. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers.
The Department and Role
The English, Business and Culture department is a large department that comprises of English, Business, Financial Studies, Economics, Media, Film and Journalism. Economics is a very popular course at Pendleton Sixth Form College, having very successful outcomes for our students, many of whom progress onto degrees at prestigious universities. As part of a strong curriculum team in a rapidly developing curriculum area, the successful candidate will focus on working towards college and departmental targets to ensure outstanding results and value-added ratings. We have a large department made up of experienced teachers and early career teachers. Many of our teachers have industry experience in areas such as business and finance. Our key strength is that teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to create supportive and academically challenging environments for our students to thrive in. We seek to appoint a teacher who is a team player and can bring imagination to their teaching. They need be able to instil passion and a love of learning and be devoted to improving the outcomes of young people.
