Due to the promotion of an existing member of the team and the availability of an appointed permanent replacement, a temporary opportunity has arisen to join Exeter College to teach the thriving subject of A Level Economics. Economics is taught within the Outstanding Faculty of Maths and Science and has recently undergone a period of rapid growth. The faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and has continued to grow its range of provision with improved Achievement and Value-Added ever since. We are primarily based in purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre. The faculty delivers a range of maths and science courses at levels two and three including A levels, BTEC Applied Science, IB science and maths courses and Access to HE. You will be joining an existing experienced, supportive Programme Leader for Economics with a passion for the subject and a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. You will join a welcoming and forward-looking Mathematical Sciences team lead by a Curriculum Area Manager and also benefit from extensive support within the faculty, including a mentor and Tutorial Lead.
You will work with the support of the full-time Programme Leader to carry out teaching and tutorial duties for A level Economics which is well-resourced and in a strong position, with established classes of motivated A level learners.
Experienced teachers or entrants to the profession are invited to apply; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the subject knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to support the learners through this temporary phase. Part time applications will also be considered for this post. This post could also provide the right candidate with the opportunity to gain an ongoing permanent Associate Lecturer position to support cover within the faculty or part-time teaching hours in 2021/22 if, as expected, Economics continues to grow or if you are able to offer another subject specialism.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.
We do not accept CVs, no agencies please.
