Job overview

The Jack & Jill Family of Schools has an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for Engineering and Computing to join a high-achieving and outstanding Family of Schools where every child is encouraged to achieve his or her full potential in a dynamic and creative environment.

The position is to start September 2023.

You will primarily work at Clarence House Preparatory School (C.H.P.S), an academic preparatory school for girls aged 7-11, based in Hampton Hill, Middlesex, which specialises in S.T.E.M subjects. You will also be expected to lead computing/engineering after-school clubs across the Family of Schools.

C.H.P.S. has a subject specialist model. This role will teach computing from Year Three-Six and design & technology (with an engineering focus) from Year Three-Six in our purpose-build Makerspace.

This is a part time role (equivalent to approximately 2 days per week). We anticipate 8 x 1 hour design & technology lessons per week and 4 x 1 hour computing lessons per week.

This may be a role that suits a teacher who has taught computing or D.T. at KS3/KS4 level; or a KS2 class teacher who has always wanted the time to specialise in coding, robotics and engineering; or an individual who has worked in STEM who would love to move into teaching and instil their knowledge and passion for the subjects.

Above all, you want to be excited to be part of a Family of Schools that are justifiably proud of their reputation and offer a fantastic learning environment and knowledge-led curricula for children aged 2-11. The Jack & Jill Family of Schools are an outstanding Ofsted rated, family-run independent schools with thriving Early Years, Pre-Prep and Prep facilities at our schools in Twickenham, Hampton and Hampton Hill.

We are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete a full DBS check.

If you are interested in this role, please complete the application form that can be found on the School website (https://jackandjillschool.org.uk) and email to hr@jjfos.uk

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to unsuccessful applicants, so only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Welcome to the Jack and Jill Family of Schools – a group of schools that has been providing education for young children since 1951 and is now one of the very few remaining family run educational establishments in the UK:

  • Jack & Jill Nursery (Twickenham)
  • Nightingale House Pre-Preparatory School (Hampton)
  • Clarence House Preparatory School (Hampton Hill)

All Jack and Jill schools focus on achieving high standards in both behaviour and academic performance within the close supportive ‘family’ environment and through a broad and balanced academic curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon acceleration in English and Maths as well as development of effective working practices, diligence and the sheer joy of learning.

We believe that quality education and care during a child’s precious formative years ensures a happy and memorable experience and provides an enduring, unparalleled foundation for life. From the day a child is entrusted to our care, his or her needs in all areas are paramount.

The Jack & Jill Family of Schools achieved Ofsted ‘outstanding’ in all areas’ in its latest inspection in January 2020.
