Values and Vision

Alford Academy considers itself a learning community rather than just a school, educating children in and out of the classroom. It does not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach, instead respecting each student as an individual to help provide for their needs and educate them in a way that helps them become a successful citizen of the outside world. Its key values include wisdom, justice, compassion and integrity, things it holds at the centre of its school vision.

The campus has a variety of facilities including a swimming pool, sports hall, theatre and dance studio.

Education Scotland

“Young people in the school are very well motivated and interested in learning. They respond well to the varied teaching approaches provided in most classes and work well in groups and individually. Most are performing very well in classwork across the school, through listening attentively and concentrating on the tasks in hand. Young people are benefiting from the very wide range of sporting, cultural and community-based activities offered by the school.”
