Job overview
We are looking for a part-time Teacher to join our Adult English & English teaching team at the Joseph Wright Centre. You will be a dedicated and motivated professional ready to provide an innovative, dynamic and responsive delivery of both GCSE English and Functional English to adult learners, both at The Joseph Wright Centre and a variety of community venues.
You will have experience in delivering GCSE English and/or Functional English to adult learners in a community setting. You will be responsible for planning schemes of work and lessons, setting and marking assignments, keeping learner portfolios up to date and entering learner data on our administrative system. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills, together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team, are also essential in this role.
In addition, candidates will also need a teaching qualification, and have achieved a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
