Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of English & Drama to join a High School based in Camden.

South Hampstead High School is looking for a highly capable, enthusiastic and committed part-time teacher to join their vibrant English & Drama Departments from September 2025.

As a Teacher of English & Drama, you will plan, prepare and deliver challenging, well-organised and stimulating English and Drama lessons to highly motivated and talented pupils from Years 7 to 13. 

You will also play a major role in the life of the school, sharing in pastoral and administrative duties and contributing to their vibrant programme of extra-curricular enrichment. This includes accompanying their students on trips to festivals in the UK and abroad, as well as contributing to their extensive theatre trip programme.

They are looking for a dynamic, energetic and inspirational individual, who is willing to go above and beyond to provide the necessary pace and stretch for their bright, motivated girls. You will be an experienced teacher with a proven track record, or a well-qualified ECT/graduate, looking to begin your career in teaching.

The English & Drama Departments

The English Department is lively, active and held in high regard by pupils and staff. English is always one of the most popular A-Level subjects chosen and the pupils are enthused by advanced subject knowledge. 

The Drama Department is a thriving and busy department offering extensive opportunities within both academic and extra-curricular Drama and has a high profile within the wider school community.

The Departments offer a range of activities and trips, including two creative writing groups and curriculum theatre trips. Their Drama Department has an established Theatre Company in the Sixth Form, with trips to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and performances at the Shakespeare Schools’ Festival and Camden Theatre Festival.
