Hummersknott Academy is a very popular, oversubscribed 11-16 school.
We are looking for an outstanding, passionate and dynamic teacher to join our hard working, well-resourced English Faculty. The ideal candidate will offer high quality teaching at KS3 and KS4 and have a passion for working with young people. Applicants will have excellent subject knowledge and enjoy working as part of a creative team which continually looks to deepen its understanding of the new GCSEs and to improve its delivery of content through sharing of best practice. Experience of teaching Drama at KS3 would be an advantage.

About Hummersknott Academy
Hummersknott Academy is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Darlington, County Durham. At its most recent inspection there were 1,228 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
Hummersknott Academy was founded in 1955 as a girls’ high school and converted to academy status in 2012. In 2007, the school underwent an extensive £15 million regeneration project. The area of Hummersknott is located in the west of Darlington and has a population of around 3,500. Extensive facilities at the school include a dance studio, ceramics area, recording studio, sports hall and a 3G artificial football pitch.
