The High Weald Academy invites all students and staff to belong to one of three Houses; Ambition, Achievement and Aspiration.  Membership of a House affords each member of the academy an opportunity to be known for their individual talents and interests as well as enabling them to compete in a variety of ways. Leadership in our academy is not reserved for the staff and the contribution made to the ethos, values and operation of the academy by our student leaders led by our Head Prefects and their team cannot be underestimated. Together the High Weald community works toward continual improvement.

High Weald Academy is a small school serving a widespread rural area.  There is a calm and orderly environment and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of academy life.  The welcoming and family ethos is reflected in our Aspire and Achieve values and in our cohort structure which promotes a strong sense of community and belonging and supports students to develop and flourish both academically and as young people.  It is a school completely connected to the local community.  High Weald Academy has high expectations of all students and aims to ensure that students achieve the highest possible academic results as well as support them to develop as good citizens able to take their place in the world.  We have an active and supportive parent body who are advocates of the work we do and promote the academy positively in the local area.

The academy currently has just under 300 students. The School Farm is outstanding and wins a range of accolades and prizes as a result of the work we do with the community and local primary schools.  It also gives opportunities to learn in a different context within and beyond the curriculum.

THigh Weald Academy is on a trajectory of improvement.  Our key priority and focus are to remove the barriers to learning in order to secure good and better progress and outcomes for all students no matter what their starting points or challenges.  We are an academy that is committed to ensuring that children achieve well and are given every opportunity to develop a diverse range of skills and abilities that will serve them well in adult life.   The Trust provides opportunities for collaboration between both staff and students across the three schools it works with. At a time of flux in education, we have a strong belief that schools can no longer exist in isolation and that partnerships of this kind are a way of providing stability, support and innovation.

The school’s motto is PRIDE. This stands for personal excellence, respect and friendship, inspiration, determination and courage, equality. Being a part of the community and cooperating with parents is viewed as important. No matter what background each child comes from, the school aims to help them reach their full potential. The academy hopes to mould the pupils into caring, young adults.
