Trinity Academy St Edward’s (TASE) opened our doors to a founding cohort in September 2021. Since then TASE has quickly established itself as the school of choice in Barnsley, being oversubscribed the past three years. The academy now has a cohort of 720 students and has just moved into a new £25 million pound, 18-acre site.

The already exceptional education and experiences are supplemented by the outstanding facilities on offer. TASE has a strong, rigorous curriculum that aims to get the very best out of all children, its STEM focus gives a multitude of opportunities for its children to experience the wider world and begin an aspirational journey to the top.

Already recognised with the Quality in Careers Standard, TASE children get the very best teaching on offer, and this is dovetailed with a superb INVOLVE offer. TASE has been awarded World Class School status and was shortlisted for World Class School of the Year in 2023.

In May 2024 we were awarded Ofsted Outstanding in all areas; the only mainstream secondary school to ever achieve this in Barnsley.

Ambition and desire is a running thread through all of our highly-skilled and professional staff, our culture is to do everything we can for the children in our care. This was highlighted by Ofsted who stated: ‘Leaders have the highest ambition for pupils. There is an unwavering determination from all staff to provide young people with the very best education.’ We don’t accept excuses at TASE, if children have barriers to success, then we work tirelessly to overcome them, overcoming every hurdle and putting in timely and effective intervention. We were delighted to be awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence status for our work to ensure all children succeed and enjoy their education.

Children at TASE will succeed no matter their starting point and their experiences will not only open doors to academic success but will provide them with a solid foundation to be a good person in society, making a difference to their own and others’ lives. The TASE family is growing and its warm, family feel ensures it is the beating heart of its community.
