Are you an inspirational, dedicated teacher who is committed to raising student attainment? Do you consistently deliver good to outstanding lessons, track individual pupil progress and make effective use of structured feedback? Are you an intuitive, engaging and adaptable classroom practitioner who sets and keeps high expectations? 

 We need you to join our enthusiastic and collaborative English department, teaching across all Key Stages. Students follow GCSE English Language & English Literature courses at KS4, many of whom progress to A Level in Sixth Form.    

Writhlington School is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership and located on a large modern campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. The school is committed to supporting staff in their professional development and working collaboratively to drive towards the goal of consistently refining pedagogy and practice with a pupil centred mindset.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are a range of opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extracurricular activities: There is a successful Model United Nations team, a large Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award system and international links with Tanzania and Rwanda, that support the 14-19 curriculum.
