This role is temporary in the first instance due to the promotion of existing members of staff into senior leadership and middle leadership positions

Parkside is a rapidly improving school situated in a rural situation, close to Haworth, West Yorkshire, with good transport links to both Bradford and Leeds. It is a popular and oversubscribed 11 to 18 co-educational school with 1100 students on role. In September 2013, we welcomed our new Headteacher who is both excited and committed to developing Parkside School and making it the good school that both the students and community deserve.

In November 2014, OFSTED commented;

"The Headteacher, newly appointed senior leaders and many middle managers have high expectations. They have made large-scale changes since the previous inspection that are improving teaching and raising achievement…."

"Behaviour around the school is calm and orderly. Students enjoy coming to school and are welcoming to visitors"

"The school’s arrangements to keep students’ safe are good. Students say how well they are supported and cared for and how little bullying takes place"

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, innovative, and highly skilled English teacher and this would be an ideal role for someone starting out in their teaching career as an NQT or an experienced member of staff looking for a new challenge. The successful applicant will report directly to the Head of Faculty and it is expected they will support the strategic direction and development of the faculty across all areas and exam courses.

The successful applicant will be joining a faculty that has:

  • Significantly improved results at Key Stage 4 and key stage 5
  • Worked strategically to enhance the progress of its students across all Key Stages
  • A dedicated team who are hardworking, enthusiastic and collaborative in their approach to working together
  • A supportive environment where staff development is an essential aspect of career development

We are seeking to appoint:

  • A teacher with a passion for delivering inspiring and exciting lessons
  • A candidate with high expectations of themselves and their students
  • An good or outstanding classroom practitioner
  • A dedicated colleague who is keen to make a significant contribution to raising the attainment and progress of their students further and to producing successful, independent learners for the future
