Full Time Fixed Term Position for Semesters 1 and 2, 2018

The ability to teach Social Science and/or Religious Education is essential.  

St Rita's College, in the Brisbane suburb of Clayfield, is a Catholic secondary school for girls with an enrolment of 1030 students.  

St Rita's seeks applications from teachers who excel in the English curriculum across the secondary Year levels. 

Suitably qualified applicants should be knowledgeable in and embrace current pedagogical thinking, should hold the ability to work collaboratively in planning and implementing effective English teaching and learning programs and should be able to demonstrate ability as an outstanding classroom teacher with a commitment to student welfare.  

The ability to teach Social Science and/or Religious Education is essential

St Rita’s College is a Catholic all-girls, secondary, independent day school that offers education for students aged between 12-18. The non-selective school, located in Clayfield, Queensland, currently has 1,028 pupils on roll.

St Rita’s College has been in its initial location since its founding in 1926 and originally offered day education and boarding facilities to both boys and girls. It has since evolved into an all-girls school that focuses on nurturing young women into becoming independent leaders.

St Rita’s College is equipped with the latest learning facilities and technologies to ensure that every pupil receives the best education. These amenities include the modernistic Nano Nagle Centre, home to the Sr Elvera Science Centre and college library. 

The college also offers extensive sporting facilities including the Acqua Rosa Centre which features a 25-metre heated pool, three multifunctional hard courts, a covered court, and a multipurpose gymnasium.

Curriculum

The curriculum at St Rita’s College is firmly grounded in the Catholic religion, endorsing the vision for religious education outlined by the Brisbane Catholic Education. 

The all-girls college cultivates stimulating learning environments where students work both independently and in teams to achieve the highest level of education. In all areas of study, pupils are encouraged to use critical thinking to challenge conformity and question social norms.
