Shanghai United International School is opening a brand new, purpose built campus in the city of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, China. It is a through school from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and we are now seeking to appoint a team of excellent teachers and leaders to staff the school. This is an exciting opportunity as it not only provides a chance to teach in an International context, but to be in at the beginning in the birth of a new school where you can innovate and grow your career as the school grows to its capacity of 2500 students in the next few years. The school is part of the Shanghai based Xiehe organisation with over 40 schools (including Kindergartens) and 20,000 students. SUIS schools are where ‘East meets West’ to create a truly international education for its students.
The curriculum used in the Middle school will be a unique blend of Chinese and English content and teaching styles, leading to IGCSE’s, A Levels and AP (Advanced Program) in the High School. We are seeking teachers with a willingness to collaborate with their Chinese counterparts to create something really special in Wenzhou and who are able and willing to teach Middle School to High School courses.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree
- Relevant teaching qualifications
- At least 2 years teaching experience
- Teachers with TEFL qualifications would be desirable but not essential
The successful candidate will be required to teach across the age and ability range that exists in the Middle and High Schools and in collaboration with Chinese counterparts, help to develop an integrated curriculum that truly meets the needs of our students, so the ability and desire to work collaboratively is essential. We seek flexible and dynamic individuals who can take a full and active role in the development of the school and the team of staff at this important time in the schools growth.
