The Meadows School provides a broad and balanced curriculum for students whilst recognising that some young people who are at the hospital are not able to access full time education, due to their complex mental health issues.

We therefore prioritise the core subjects of English, mathematics, science and ICT. We also provide opportunities for young people to study Humanities, PSHE and undertake creative learning opportunities. The curriculum is complemented by integral therapeutic activities delivered by the psychology and occupational therapy teams. Timetables reflect this broad range of provision.

We have four main teaching spaces at the Meadows.

  • 2 classrooms equipped with computer and internet facilities.
  • A low stimulus classroom – for small group and individual sessions.
  • A creative activities area.
  • Kitchen – For Cooking, Baking and Smoothie Making!

Young people also have access to a gym and courtyard area.
