We have an exciting opportunity at All Saints CE School for a full time teacher of English from September 2018. Experience of teaching Drama and Media would be advantageous. Applications are welcomed from NQTs and more experienced colleagues.
All Saints is a Voluntary Aided 11-16 Church of England Secondary School on Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic coast. We wish to appoint a colleague who will:
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Plan and teach well structured lessons
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment

We are committed to enriching our pupils’ experience of English literature and theatre and welcome creative input into the curriculum.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for the subject/s; have a commitment to further develop their place at the heart of our school; be possessed with excellent communication skills and have an empathy with the aims and ethos of the school.
Applicants need to meet the following criteria in addition to that specified in the person specification:
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Be qualified to teach secondary English to GCSE
- Have recent experience

All Saints Church of England School is a co-educational secondary school located in Weymouth, Dorset. A smaller-than-average school, All Saints has around 850 pupils aged 11-16. It holds specialist status in science and languages, and has a close working relationship with its local primary schools.

Values and vision
Christian values play a large part in the running of All Saints Church of England School. The secondary school encourages students to be accepting and tolerant towards all faiths and belief systems. In terms of curriculum, the school offers a wide range of courses, with GCSEs and BTECs available. Some students also make use of local off-site provision, such as Weymouth College.
The school’s dyslexia base ensures that students with such difficulties receive extra support with their studies and do not fall behind their peers. A broad array of extra-curricular activities are also provided, such as a writers’ club.

“The school has developed an approach to embedding reading, writing, communication and mathematics across the curriculum. The Year 7 catch-up funding is used for an accelerated reading scheme and one-to-one support. These initiatives are enabling these students to make rapid progress.”
