Queen Elizabeth's School is located to the west of Wimborne Minster, a beautiful town in rural Dorset on the South Coast of England, part of the Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site. The award winning beaches of Poole and Bournemouth are close by as is Poole Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world.  The stunning landscape of the New Forest is also within easy reach.  There are major road and rail links to London, and Bournemouth International airport serves Western Europe and the Mediterranean areas with seasonal services further afield.

Queen Elizabeth’s School is a 13-18 mixed Church of England comprehensive academy with an excellent local reputation for high quality teaching and learning and an innovative and forward looking approach to education. The school became an academy in 2014 and on the   1st September 2019 joined Wimborne Academy Trust. In February 2023 Wimborne Academy Trust joined forces with Minerva Learning Trust. The new partnership became Initio Learning Trust, comprising 17 schools across Dorset, with a head office based in Wimborne. The trust offers children and young people an excellent education through every stage of schooling from nursery through to sixth form.

In September 2017 the school was judged to be good by Ofsted and in June 2018 it was judged to be outstanding in the SIAMS inspection.

As a Church of England school our vision is linked to a Commitment to hope for all of our students.

At Queen Elizabeth’s School we are very proud of the positive relationships that exist between all members of the QE Family. The spirit of the QE Family is primarily recognised in the learning partnerships that exist between all members of the school community.  All that we do within school is underpinned by our school values of Community, Respect, Kindness and Love.  We believe that when students are happy they will thrive, when they are challenged they will succeed and when they are supported they will achieve.  Above all else, Queen Elizabeth’s School focuses on the individual to ensure that between the ages of 13 and 18 all students mature as learners and individuals.  We all want our students to be successful and independent learners but we also recognise that they need support and guidance to achieve their potential.

At QE School we have a focus on student learning outcomes in the broadest sense and particularly seek to offer learning opportunities that will encourage resilience and adaptability that will enable our students to meet the demands of an ever changing society.
