Teacher of English.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Ealing. The school is looking to add a Teacher of English to its progressive and supportive Department ideally starting September 2022.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of English at KS3 across year groups 7 to 9 and more as the school grows.  You will support the Head of English to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

"The academy is a new secondary school in Acton which opened in September 2021 to 180 year 7 students.  We will continue to grow by 180 students each year until reaching full capacity in 2028. The successful candidates will join a very strong English department and will work closely with the Head of Department to shape English provision at the school, embed the school vision and develop an outstanding school that empowers our students to take responsibility and drive their own destinies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the school. They will be supported in their development and preparation for future roles. Teaching experience will not be a determining factor - we welcome applications from NQTs as well as more experienced candidates. We will develop every staff member that joins our team, providing one-to-one support, coaching and mentoring and access to extensive network training."

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A relevant English Degree or a related subject

• Experience in delivering English up to ideally A-level pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• A love and passion for education.
