Job overview

We seek to appoint an inspirational English Teacher, with ambition and empathy to encourage a love of learning, a spirit of enquiry and an independence of mind in our students. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner with a global view of facilitating, training and mentoring. Additional duties will include a pastoral role as a form teacher. Opportunities for academic or subject headship are also available for the right candidate.

The Continental School of Cairo is an unique campus in Egypt hosting four first-class independent schools. With a combined 1,300 students attending the Lower, International, National and Special Needs sections, CSC is an outward-focused, inclusive and forward thinking community. The school is an oasis and a leading light in the Obour City suburbs of Greater Cairo, about 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport and Heliopolis.

We are a fully accredited Edexcel learning centre as well as an official Cambridge International Examinations Centre. Our academic programmes take their lead from the UK National Curriculum and we offer IGCSE at the end of Year 10.

If you are a native English speaker, have a recognized degree and teaching qualification, along with the minimum requirement of at least 3 years teaching experience, we would love to hear from you. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and police clearance.

The School Campus

The School Campus is situated in El Obour city, a new district on the outskirt of Cairo, about 15/20 minutes by car from Heliopolis. This new campus, which was opened in the year 2000, covers an area of 12,000 square meters of beautifully landscaped ground, swimming pools and sport facilities. The school campus comprises three schools all of which enjoy first class facilities and fully air-conditioned classrooms. The campus is served by a fleet of school buses for the transportation of staff and students.

  1. The Continental Language School (CLS) - The CLS is a mainstream language school that follows the Egyptian national Curriculum but the medium of instruction is English.
  2. The Continental International School (CIS) -  The CIS is a British International school which follows the British National Curriculum.
  3. The Continental school of Cairo (CSC) - The CSC is a small special education school for children with learning difficulties and special educational needs.
