Teacher of English (SEN).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive SEN school, based in Epping, Essex. The school is looking to add a Teacher of English to its progressive and supportive English Department ideally starting ASAP.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of English at KS3, GCSE and A-level. You will support the Head of English to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

“The school is for up to 62 pupils aged 11-18 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team, work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils in classes of no more than seven, supported by teaching assistants, a pastoral team and a clinical team. Do you want to have the autonomy to create fun, exciting and engaging lessons for young people with autism? The Tower School, a brand new independent school, is looking for innovative thinkers who can create new and encapsulating ways of teaching the curriculum to our students and developing our expanding teaching team.

We are looking for a creative, resilient and open-minded Secondary English Teacher to join our family- feel team and to lead on literacy throughout the school. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and share our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of one year’s experience, who want to develop, get involved, have their ideas heard, can influence and coach Teachers and Teaching Assistants and whose main priority is creating a safe and secure environment for young people to learn. Previous experience with autism is not essential as the school offers an outstanding professional development model. We are looking for qualified teachers for this position and those with specific core English curriculum experience would be essential."

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQML and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• support package for NQT’s/RQT’s including CPD and NQT mentorship;

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as TLR or Leadership roles in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant English Degree or a related subject

• experience of delivering English up to A-level pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• a love and passion for education.
