Falkland House School is an independent school providing education for boys aged between 8 and 18 who have Additional Support Needs, predominately High Functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder. A wide range of teaching and learning techniques and strategies are used to ensure that each pupil achieves to their full potential. We present pupils in SQA Awards from National 3 all the way through to Higher. The school makes use of the latest technologies to bring learning to life. We also recognise that often the most valuable and effective interaction is that which occurs between pupils. We actively promote cooperative learning techniques and constantly encourage peer support. We use a project led, thematic approach throughout the school to create a relevant context for all learning.

We seek to appoint a creative and enthusiastic teacher of English able to achieve high levels of pupil engagement, challenge and progress to join the education team. Excellent CPD opportunities are available and a commitment to PRD is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the ongoing success of the school and our commitment to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.

Candidates will be subject to a PVG check and must be eligible for registration with the GTCS.

Salary £22,866.00 to £36,480.00 we are members of the SPPA pension scheme.

Falkland House School is an in independent residential school for boys from primary to aged 18 years.  Our pupils have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.  We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society.

We provide residential and day places to boys from early primary to aged 18, with residential placements of both 39 weeks and 52 weeks offered. The school has a well-established reputation for excellence in the quality of its service provision and for achieving positive educational and socially inclusive outcomes.
