Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and appropriately qualified teacher of English to teach across the age range, from Year 7 to Upper Sixth (Year 13).
The English Department is a highly successful department and our pupils consistently achieve excellent results, with significant value added. There are three full-time members of the department, who share the teaching of Removes (Year 9), IGCSE and A Level. They also contribute to the teaching of English in Years 7 and 8 in our Preparatory School.
All pupils follow the Edexcel IGCSE courses in English Language and English Literature. There is a strong interest in the subject in the Sixth Form, where we teach the OCR A Level course in English Literature.
The salary, which is pensionable under the Teachers Pension Scheme, will be on the King’s salary scale (an enhanced version of the common pay scale in the maintained sector) according to qualifications and experience. Accommodation may be available.

About King's Rochester
King’s Rochester is a mixed, non-selective, Church of England, all-through school with nursery classes and sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an independent school with boarding provision and an associate member of the Woodard Foundation. A smaller than average school, King’s Rochester provides 800 places for nursery, preparatory, senior and sixth-form students between the ages of 3 and 18 when fully subscribed.
The oldest choir school and the second oldest school in the world, King’s Rochester has roots dating back to the founding of Rochester Cathedral in the year 604 AD. King Henry VIII refounded the school in 1542.
