We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified specialist graduate teacher to join our English department, which has attained excellent examination results over the last 3 years and continues to improve.

About the Education Service
The three island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne’s School in Alderney work in a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.
The drivers in secondary phase education for this collaborative approach are quality of educational experience and outcomes, equality of opportunity and access, and efficient and effective use of resources.
Employed by the States of Guernsey and based at La Mare de Carteret High School, you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across key stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.
This post carries an eight-year employment permit. If appointed, you can expect to:
- Benefit from the stunning scenery and enviable quality of life;
- Work in a well-resourced school that follows an innovative Bailiwick curriculum based on the English National Curriculum and which has favourable PTRs;
- Be part of a leading development of ICT in education and be allocated a personal laptop;
- Receive a generous relocation package to the island, including rent allowance;
- Enjoy the benefits of more generous tax allowances on an island with no VAT.
