As a highly successful community school and sports college, recognised as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and featured in the 2015 Parliamentary Review for Secondary Education, Herne Bay High School is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic teacher of English to join our expanding English department.
The English department is central to our commitment to ensure high quality literacy skills across the curriculum. In particular, we have developed several innovative strategies to improve student progress in reading and writing, including our bespoke reading curriculum. The new specifications at GCSE and A level are fully embedded across all key stages and the new grade 1-9 system is fully operational with staff confident in its application. The sixth form curriculum is wide and varied and could offer the successful applicant exciting opportunities to be involved with Key Stage 5 teaching. We currently offer English Literature and English Language/Literature at AS and A level as well as the EPQ course.
