St Joseph's College is a vibrant independent day and boarding school in Ipswich providing a broad and seamless education for over 550 boys and girls aged 3 - 18. St Joseph’s College has a proud history of strong results within the English Faculty and seeks to appoint an outstanding Teacher of English from either June or September 2018. You will be able to instil a passion for English language and literature in your students and be able to engage students of all abilities, enabling each young person to achieve their potential. A single-minded focus on pupil outcomes and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school including extra-curricular are essential. An ability to teach EAL would be of interest to the College. 

All students are set in English and the proportion of the teaching time within the subject has recently been increased to reflect the higher standards and demands of the new GCSE and A-level courses. Most students also sit a GCSE in English Literature, although a few will focus solely on English Language. The A-Level course is a popular option with the College currently offering A-Level English Literature.
