KISU offers a truly holistic education to students from 50 different countries, with staff from 12 nations. KISU is located in central Kampala in a low rise residential area. The school is based on a beautifully landscaped 25 acre plot and is near to up-market shopping and leisure facilities and adjacent to three of the more prosperous residential areas in the city. The school has excellent facilities including: an 8-lane swimming pool, indoor sports centre, auditorium, outdoor theatre, 2 amphitheatres, 3 IT labs, 2 libraries and 5 acres of playing fields. There are specialist teaching areas for Science, Art, Drama, Lego Robotics, Music and Food Technology. Most classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards. KISU offers a modified version of the English National Curriculum up to Year 9, followed by IGCSEs and then IB Diploma. KISU students are inclusive, diligent and very well-behaved and are proud of their school. The school's admissions policy is inclusive and there is learning support available to those who may need it. KISU is fully accredited by CIS, NEASC, CIE and the IBO.

We require a dynamic English Language and Literature Teacher preferably with experience in one or more of;

English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3

 IGCSE (Language and World Literature) 

IBDP (Literature and/or Language and Literature)

The School

Founded in 1993, Kampala International School, Uganda began as a small primary school with a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. KISU has evolved considerably over the years and has undertaken an ambitious programme of expansion and development. It now boasts a purpose built school with excellent sporting facilities. Despite this phenomenal growth, the School has maintained its original aims and teaching philosophy.
Aims & Ethos

Helping students fulfil their potential in all aspects of their development is our starting point. Students at KISU develop a keen sense of self-identity and positive self-esteem. Internationalism is valued highly and students develop a good understanding of their multi-cultural world. The Enriched Curriculum

KISU has a programme of studies based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. French is taught to all children from Year One upwards. A programme of personal, social and health education(PSHE)  is implemented throughout the school. The curriculum has been adapted to reflect the international diversity of our school community and its location in Uganda.
Internationalism at KISU

Internationalism permeates every aspect of life at Kampala International School . It is outlined clearly in our school statements and visible throughout the curriculum. Moreover, it is apparent in the attitudes and values demonstrated by Kampala teachers and students.

KISU fosters and promotes cultural awareness, understanding, respect and sensitivity for all cultures. Students gain and develop knowledge, attitudes and values towards international understanding.
