We require for August 2016 an outstanding English Teacher to join a successful team of specialists within our multi cultural International school. For the right applicant there is an opportunity available to become 2nd in Department and or Literacy Co-ordinator.
Qatar International School is a 3-18 international school that operates a British system of Education based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales.

The post requires all successful applicants to have recent experience of delivering the National Curriculum in the British System, preferably with a minimum of two years.

English Department
The QIS English department is a dynamic, forward thinking team of twelve teachers who thrive when presented with fresh challenges. We strive to gain the best results from our students and work well together to ensure that every student achieves, or exceeds, their potential. Many of our teachers also have additional posts of responsibility; this highlights the strength and diversity we have in our team.
At KS3 we follow the English National Curriculum and at KS4 all students currently sit the Edexcel IGCSE English Language in Year 10. Our more able students also have the opportunity to go on to take English Literature in Year 11. At Advanced Level, we have many students keen to study the IAL in both Language and Literature as they value the secure foundation it provides for when they apply to Universities in the UK & USA. We are not prescriptive in our teaching and embrace opportunities to link our curriculum content to current affairs and local culture. Despite our students being predominately second language learners, we pride ourselves on the high results we attain at both IGCSE and A Level which are higher than both UK and international averages.
The Location
Doha is the capital city and central focus of Qatar. The city has a large proportion of expats and as a result is extremely diverse.
Qatar offers a warm, sunny climate throughout the year.
Expats can visit the souqs for spices and traditional clothing, enjoy local food and drinks in the streets. There are various modern malls throughout the city.
There are also many modern areas in Doha to visit in the evenings including international restaurants offering excellent food.
The Package

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be UK qualified teachers with a relevant teaching qualification including QTS.
Experience teaching the British national curriculum is essential including a proven track record of supporting students through their IGCSE and A-Level exams.

Qatar International School is a British International private school located in Doha, the capital city of the State of Qatar. The school follows the latest National Curriculum of England and Wales for students ranging between 3 and 18 years of age.
