We wish to appoint a dynamic and innovative Teacher of English who is an outstanding teacher, passionate about their subject, brings fresh ideas, and will work hard alongside the CL in leading a committed team to realise excellent progress and attainment for all students in Key Stage 4 and 5. 

The successful post holder will:

  • Have an infectious enthusiasm for teaching English.
  • Have the ability to obtain strong outcomes at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Have passion for learning and teaching and be committed to improving classroom practice. 
  • Embrace the current changes to the curriculum and drive up progress and outcomes.
  • Have a professional drive, energy, determination and aspiration. 
  • Have the ability to inspire, engage and enthuse students, staff and the wider community.
  • Collaborate and work with all staff across school.

Allerton Grange is a large and rapidly improving school, where students of all backgrounds and abilities are happy and make positive progress. We currently have 1700 students, with an intake of 300 students each year in Year 7.

We have an impressive school building, with a newly opened Sixth Form Centre, housing our diverse community of 260 post-16 students. Allerton Grange is located 4 miles from Leeds City Centre in an attractive area of privately owned residential properties.

Our increasing success is due to our rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum supported by four cornerstones: knowledge, literacy, aspirational enrichment and social mobility. We have high expectations of our students and they are keen to succeed. We give them every opportunity to know more, understand more, experience more and access more.

Every student is cared for as an individual; staff work relentlessly to ensure our students are safe, secure and happy. We have resourced provision for deaf and hearing impaired students. We also have a number of visually impaired students.

Our latest Ofsted inspection (February 2020) recognised the quality of provision we provide. They were particularly impressed by our curriculum and focus on staff wellbeing.
