TEACHER OF ENGLISH

(One year Fixed Term Contract)

Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to join our highly successful English team on a one-year fixed term basis, to cover a maternity absence from September 2022. We are happy to consider experienced candidates and those without any training who are considering embarking on a career in teaching; excellent support will be given.

The English Department has many strengths: very good relationships with pupils, promoting challenge and resilience, and a clear sense of working together as a team, sharing ideas and strategies. Pupils in English lessons are well-focused and engage with challenging content, including language, understanding of authorial craft, and contexts, promoting confidence, imagination, and sensitivity. 

The successful applicant will contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the English department and Leicester Grammar School generally and have the right to work in the UK.
