Job overview

LSA Technology and Performing Arts College – ‘A Learning Community in Pursuit of Excellence’

Are you looking to make a real difference to children’s lives? Are you ready to be part of their success? Do you want to take the next exciting step in your career as part of a dynamic team who achieved outstanding results in 2017? If you want to work at a “good” school with great students and committed staff, then LSA Technology and Performing Arts College is the place for you.

This post offers a great opportunity for all English teachers who are either at the start of their career or who are looking to further develop their teaching skills. We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic, inspiring professional who can join us on our journey to become outstanding.

At our last OFSTED inspection in March 2017, the English department was judged to have transformed teaching and learning and achieved strong progress for our students. This was confirmed in the 2017 results which saw 20% (54) of our students achieve grade 8 or 9; 68% (186) achieve grade 5 or above, and 82% (225) achieve grade 4 and above.

As a Leading Edge school we will look to you to create lesson plans which are challenging and engaging and which allow every child to make progress. In return, you will be given support so that you can be the very best teacher possible. The support will be delivered by a cohesive, creative and committed team whose aim it is to maintain high standards and high expectations in a well-resourced faculty.

At LSA, teaching and learning is at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to developing the whole child and to this end, there are a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to get involved in. So, if you are an English teacher, committed to developing your skills and providing an exceptional learning experience for the students in your care, then we look forward to receiving a completed application from you and maybe meeting you at interview.

Please take time to look at our website which will give a flavour of our ethos and show that we care about each and every child that forms part of our community, and about every member of staff; it is this ethos that makes us ‘a learning community in pursuit of excellence’.

Lytham St Annes Technology & Performing Arts College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

The closing date for this post is 9am Monday 25th June 2018
